Making Stainsbridge House
Your Home
Stainsbridge House is an attractive 18th Century property near the centre of Malmesbury. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide care for older people with dementia such as Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia or Parkinson’s disease. We offer a safe and secure environment for the people who live with us.
All our bedrooms have nurse call points and en-suite facilities including level-access showers in most rooms. We also have a day space on each floor. We have private parking and a large, safe, level garden running alongside the Tetbury Branch of the River Avon.
The Way We Care
Our Acting Home Manager, Mandy McNally, has worked at Stainsbridge House for 7 years and she leads an experienced and stable team of carers and support staff.
Our residents have varying needs so we tailor our care to suit each individual. Our routines are flexible and we support people to maintain their independence and make their own choices wherever possible.
Activities
Our activities team organise daily activities and entertainment. They also help with personal shopping, outings, appointments and maintaining contact with family and friends.
Our hairdresser visits weekly. Other healthcare professionals (physiotherapy, chiropodists, opticians etc.) also visit regularly.
Dining
We provide for each resident’s nutritional needs because we know that good nutrition is vital for maintaining health and wellbeing. Residents can have their meals in their rooms if they wish or they can come to the dining room.
We offer choices at every meal, lunch being the main meal of the d. Residents can have a snack or drink at any time of the day or night.
Our rooms are fully furnished but we can make space for small items of personal furniture and we are happy to collect these in advance of admission (within our locality) so that a new resident feels at home as soon as they arrive.
Residents can move rooms within the home if a preferred room becomes available. Visitors are welcome at any time and they can dine with residents if they wish and there is no charge for this.

My sister was a resident of Stainsbridge House for eighteen months and I was constantly impressed by the level of care, compassion and good humour displayed by the staff. I was kept informed of any relevant matters relating to the care programme and activities for the residents were well organised and imaginative.

The home is staffed by people who are friendly, cheerful, warm, aware, professional and dedicated. Focusing on dementia care means that situations and problems have been seen before and nothing fazes the staff. They seem to be not only aware of each resident's particular needs in detail but also the way in which their problems may progress. Meals are always excellent, appetising and tailored to individual needs and snacks can be made available between meals as seen fit. There are many and varied activities for residents to partake of, and be involved in. The manageress is upbeat, welcoming, inclusive and dedicated and has created a real family feel to the care home, not just towards the residents and staff but towards visiting families and friends of residents. My wife has been treated with understanding, empathy and patience and I have no hesitation recommending Stainsbridge House.

My Aunt was well cared for with dignity and patience. The staff were always trying to meet her needs and were so supportive of us as a family.
My sister's and I visited most days and were always made to feel very welcome and part of the Stainsbridge family. There was always a calm atmosphere in the home. The manageress was always happy to discuss and resolve any needs that arose. Nothing was too much trouble.
The food was good and varied to meet my Aunts likes and dislikes and she was encouragaged to eat well.
After 2 years at Stainsbridge Auntie passed peacefully away. During her final few days we as a family were shown compassion and support.
I would be happy to recommend Stainsbridge House.

Our fees
Our fees cover all the normal day-to-day needs of our residents including care and attention, food and consumables, laundry, entertainment, activities, and local excursions etc. All our rooms have an en-suite wc and basin and most also have a shower. The majority of our residents are self-funding, meaning they pay for their own care, but anyone considering a move into a care home can ask their local authority’s adult social care department for advice about funding options. Local authorities can offer financial assistance to individuals based on income, savings and assets. If a local authority offers funding but it does not cover our full fee then a third party (normally the family) can 'top-up'.
Single room with en-suite wc, basin (and shower): £1,100 - £1,230 per week
